VENUE NEWS
No News Is Good News At Present

As you may have or may not have already heard or read somewhere that the Bull & Gate Public House is potentially up for grabs at the right price. As is Wayne Rooney, The Royal Opera House, the publishing rights to the Beatles entire back catalogue, New Orleans Saints American Football Team, Keane’s first demo still kicking around our office, the Becks Brewery and a banana skin of a banana eaten by Kate Garroway advertised on Ebay. Yes they are all available but of course only at the right price, as we all know everything has it’s price, and our beloved B&G is no exception to this rule.
The venue/pub is a building which dates back to the 17th century (more details On B&G Info page) and has now been
listed, we hear, as a grade two building i.e. ‘a particularly important building of more than special interest’ or ‘a building of special interest warranting every effort to be preserved’! (further detailed info).
The owner has now been Landlord and resident at the venue for roughly twenty five years and has decided it is time to move on putting the Bull & Gate Public House on the market in the process. Obviously we wish him and his family well for their new found future and adventures in life and are greatly appreciative of all the support and understanding we have received from them while based at the Bull & Gate (even the famous Exit gig!) where we have been hosting and reeling in an extremely wide and varied selection of acts/artists and beer swilling punters for a number of very enjoyable years now.
The immediate future remains rosy.
Band bookings continue via Bull & Gate Promotions as the venue remains a very popular haunt for unsigned, untapped, underground artists of all sounds and sizes from across the globe to showcase their talents and material.
No gig bookings are under any threat of cancellation (unless an offer from Richard Branson or Peter Stringfellow is accepted overnight – unlikely) and it’s business as usual until further (much further we hope) notice.
At this time this is all the information we have as we like you wait to hear of the venue’s and our more distant future. We live in hope.
We will of course post/add any further information we have on the future of the Bull & Gate Public House here as soon as we have it.
You are of course welcome to email us or post your thoughts on any of the above in our forum.

PS we were only joking about Keane’s demo, no offers please!
