Cutting down to 3 a day aint really working? Giving up is so un Rock ‘N’ Roll 🙁 Should I keep trying or is life not really worth it? I mean I could walk into a tram and die in the 30 mins (that’s how long it takes to get to Beckenham from here by the way) and then I’d feel pretty silly wouldn’t I

I’d assumed having driven through Beckenham a couple of times that you’d have to have at least an 80 a day Rothmans habbit to stay sane living there. It’s commonplace to throw yourself under a tram there too, not sure whether this is down to suicidal tendencies or a night in Langtrees night club though. Perhaps David Bowie would know, he’s from Beckenham.

Go visit your local hospice. There’s bound to be some middle-aged smoker who is terminal ill from lung cancer. If you’ve ever watched anyone in such a position, it’s a slow and painful death. Though they do give them a sugar lolly to suck on (like Kojak), it helps them salvate so that they don’t require the oxygen mask on all the time. So if you wanna die bedridden, on oxygen, sucking lollies then that’s your shout. Hey come to think of it that doesn’t sound like much of a deterrent.

Thanks Ignoratio, sounds great, bed, lollies and you don’t even have to bother breathing. I’m going to France to buy duty free a life times supply of Rothmans kingsize. Thanks for the advice.

sorry, this isn’t funny, but it works.
i hadn’t tried before, read "the easy way to stop smoking" by Alan Carr. you can fume all the way through it, and if you read and understand it you will find it quite easy. no cold sweats, no hellish cravings or feelings of deprivations. and you don’t need drugs or substitutes either. cannot recommend this book enough. even if it doesn’t work for everybody, it’s a good read.
I am not mrs carr.
incidently, rumour has it that alan carr smokes again now. he has another book "the only way to stiop smoking permanently" which is big and very dull. don’t buy it.

I decided to read this for no apparent reason, and whaddayaknow I live in Beckenham! Come on, it’s not that bad is it? Alright, Langtry’s is shite, but theres other stuff to do, like chase tramps and get murdered in the park.

Those trams, Why did they link it up to bloody Croydon, why couldn’t they have linked Beckenham up to somewhere nice like err say Greenwich? Who in thier right mind would ever wanna go to Croydon!

I really don’t know. If the trams actually linked somewhere useful like London, I’d have used them more. In the however many years they’ve been running, I think I’ve used them to get to Croydon only three times. Apparently though since they opened trade is up 20% or something in Croydon, but I think it is an intolerable grey hell hole.

Maybe if the trams just ran straight down to Beachy Head and straight over the end of the cliff the world may be a better place… and Croydon will be a little quiter.

ZYBAN.Ask your GP for a prescription. Its a temporary drug which in a matter of weeks makes cigs taste awful, and you wont want to go near one. And with very slight withdrawal symptoms. Itworks!
