Message: Yes Ben, I heard them last night at the B&G; gig, and I must say – they were the best band in there…and the prettiest too.
I swear on my neck…and on my lips that if they are not on The Big Breakfast within one month, I will personally eat my own ass.

Message: Smilex played for shorter time with greater impact. What Smilex have, Aarkestra couldn’t spell . . . . KissKiss.

Message: If by ‘greater impact’, you mean ‘managed to stir some laughter in the crowd’, then i totally agree, but when it came down to sheer musical quality(and prettiness), Aarkestra couldn’t be beaten – the crowd speaks for itself.
And that’s something that you can’t get from some Clash wannabe band with a camp frontman who’s about as charismatic and threatening as a dead kitten.
Sorry – i still love you!

Message: That’s my point, they are merely PRETTY (Merci, Boab), NOT BEAUTIFUL. Beauty is a far-off aspiration for these people . . . . Mwah!

Message: Enough of this NME letters page style sqaubbling. Of course Aarkestra aren’t going to appeal to someone who calls themselves ‘VanHelsing’ – who’s probably into 80’s rock or at the very least, just like good old S-Wells at this country’s only weekly music rag, thinks all music should be belted out and an acoustic guitar is an abomination.
The reaction of the crowd showed who really had the greatest impact that night. One band made people leave the room the other brought them back and left them chanting for more – I didn’t see Aarkestra shouting at the crowd to stop talking just to get some attention… their music did that for them.
If all you want is some bravado and screaming then good for you.

Message: Please do go and see Aarkestra tomorrow night, but do get there early for the mad trap at 8:30. We may not be as pretty, but I hope that you will be impressed anyway…

Message: A media-savvy child of the Noughties should know better than to judge the contents by the carton, Master What. FYI, Electronica from Ambient to Harsh via Glaswegian Neo-Pop and the Sound of Salford-ah hardly qualifies as 80’s Metaaaaaaal (*waves horns*) and Marty, baby, you *are* pretty, that’s just the point. I love it when people shoot themselves in the foot on my behalf «’cos I’m a love-hungry hunter in the heart of the city after midnight in Tokyo YEEEEAH» [er oops, busted;-)]

Message: Thank god for Van Helsing – protector of the ugly and all round good egg!
Now if you can put your "messages" into your "music" you’ll be on a "winner", instead of "forcing the image", shoutin’ and "hoping someone listens" – forcing "us" "to" neglect "the content", which "just" leaves the packaging – and that’s pretty boring to"o".
You are Happy Shopper Orange Juice, and let’s face it – we all know what orange juice tastes like.

Message: Hmmm
For a band that are pretty and nothing else… Van Helsing sure does write a lot about ‘said band’. It’s a good job he’s got nothing better to do because Aarkestra are getting a lot of free publicity – and bravo for those ever so eclectic tastes of his
