Subject: WORST BAND YOU’VE EVER SEEN IP: Logged
Message: Menu inspired post here (see menu post if you have not already)
Ok, let’s keep the positive vibes a-flowing!
What is the worst band you’ve ever seen on the circuit. Talking strictly circuit bands here, unsigned, new etc and why?
Mine has to be a band called The Panic Hats. Had the misfortune a few years ago to catch them at the Bull & Gate playing to an empty room late in the evening. The singers dad was literally the only punter in the venue and was standing in front of his ‘should have been a printer or something, anything other than a rock n roll star’ offspring and mouthing every word and mimicking his every epileptic bucket footed Elvis like jig and pose. The music was the poorest pub rock bollox imaginable, no excuse for it.
I saw the film the Commitments once and swore I’d never sit through such drivel and stomach churningly tedius music ever again! The Panic Hats were the bloody Commitments and made me swear again, f###ING USELESS S### C###S F### OFF
Hope the Panic Hats have split up for ever. No hard feelings. There are worse bands than Menu, plenty sadly.
PS I blame the promoters myself!

im sure the commitments wern’t the worse band ever- was it just the music or the fact they were irish?
for me it would have to be bicycle clip sex (or whatever they’re called),ear plugs should be supplied when listening to theese..the bloke has a guitar with about 3 strings missing..
mind you the concept was interesting.

Message: Absolutely unforgivable to have missing strings on your geetar. Also all that feedback nonsense and hitting your guitar with bits that have fallen off tube trains. Inutterably inexcusable behaviour – no wonder the trains keep falling off their tracks.
And that idiot that used to play his axe with his teeth whilst setting it alight – and those stupid Americans who aren’t young anymore but mislead you into thinking they are with their band name, with their insistence on using weird tunings.
Shit, it just makes you yearn for a bit of pubular rock.
